About

About Dalatia Village
Dalatia (Al-Deltiya) is a vibrant and historic village, one of the 14 main villages that comprise Osylat in Sharq Al-Nile locality, Khartoum State, Sudan. Located 37 kilometers southeast of Khartoum on the eastern bank of the Blue Nile, our community is built on rich traditions, strong family bonds, and a commitment to preserving our cultural heritage while embracing modern progress.
Osylat, where our village is located, holds deep historical significance as one of the oldest areas in Khartoum. It served as the "second capital" of the historic Funj Kingdom and was originally known as "Kiki." The region was settled by the Osaylat tribe who migrated from Abu Hamad in northern Sudan in the early 14th century.
Our village is blessed with extensive agricultural and pastoral lands (Hawakir), contributing to the region's rich farming heritage. Dalatia is home to hundreds of families who contribute to the rich tapestry of Sudanese culture through traditional crafts, music, cuisine, and community celebrations.
